The Big bad Wolf & the Colors of Fall

Halloween night we had a visit from "The Big Bad Wolf" aka Marti'n, just thought it was too much like family not to share!! teehee!!

On the last post I thought fall was coming late this year, but to my surprise it is right on time! It's funny how we think we remember things correctly, and we just know this is how it was, or when it happened, but how wrong we can be. I guess that's why we need to write things down, for the sake of telling things correctly. Relying on our memories alone sure can tell the wrong story. We looked back through our pictures from last year and 11/11/06 we took pictures of peak week. This year's pictures we started taking just this week, and this certainly looks to be like peak week to me. 11/10/07. Just wanted to share Oklahoma's fall colors with everyone. We are also in Indian summer, today hitting the mid 70's and tomorrow it will be 79. It is absolutely gorgeous!

The leaves have been falling today in great mass with every rush of the wind. They are covering the grass and sidewalks and streets, like a blanket, in preparation for the winter snows. You can hear the dry rustle of the leaves as the wind blows. The crunching under your feet as you walk thru the yard. Raking will begin soon, piles of leaves waiting for the children in all of us to just jump in!

I love to go for a walk in the fall, just taking in all the gorgeous colors, and kicking the leaves as I go. The warmth of the sun, the coolness of the breeze, the snapping and crunching of the sticks and dry leaves. Watching the squirels gather the acorns, and scurrying along...so very busy. Mowing is done for this year, and the urge to start baking goodies and cooking old fashioned meals is beginning to bubble up. Time to store fat, or just relish in the delights of the aromas that fill the house.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner...and we do have so much to be thankful for! Stop, look, listen, and store up in your senses the delights of the Colors of Fall.

Persecuted Christians in Orissa, India

How to Help

Dear Team,

I have just spoken with Brown Naik on how we can best support our Christian brothers and sisters in Orissa at this time of extreme persecution. Of course, he says to pray, pray, pray. Also, however, there are financial needs for those who have been burned out of their homes and have fled to the jungles and other locations. Any financial gifts would be used for food and clothing for these displaced Christians.

Please make any checks out to "Union Center United Methodist Church" and place "India Project" in the memo line.
